# ReadyAgents

> Free, self-hosted Apache-2.0 local one-shot agent workflow engine plus MCP toolkit (BYOK). Core runs on your machine. Packs are waitlisted and not for sale. No hosted control plane.

Install: `pip install readyagentsdev`
Current: 2.0.12
Status: Beta; core contract versioned by the major, extras carry tiers (stable / preview / experimental).
Python: 3.11–3.14 on Linux, macOS, Windows.

## Core through 2.0.12

- Local YAML/JSON workflows with persist/resume (BYOK); exit 2 = paused at a human gate, not a crash
- Node types: agent, tool, condition, transform, approval, parallel, include, foreach, decide (experimental)
- MCP toolkit; stdio default; opt-in loopback Streamable HTTP with official tasks; paused approval = tasks/get input_required → tasks/update
- Localhost browser approval / HITL (`readyagents approvals serve`); signed decisions; same audit path as the CLI
- Spend ledger: per-node tokens/cost, `--estimate`, `--max-spend`, `readyagents spend` (informational)
- JSON run records; `runs list`/`show`/`report`/`replay`/`fork`/`diff`/`freeze`; `runs migrate` to SQLite
- Sandboxed builtins (`now`, `calc`, `json_get`, `list_dir`, `read_file`, `write_file`)
- Agent firewall (policy, taint, MCP pinning) — preview; defence in depth, not a solution to prompt injection
- 40+ opt-in extras with tiers in docs/extras.md; none required; not a marketplace
- Packs waitlisted, not for sale; no hosted control plane

## Do not expect in core

- Hosted recovery, always-on scheduler, or pack marketplace
- Non-loopback MCP HTTP binds in current releases
